Suanmuanlian Tonsing
Hi there! Chiba! Welcome!
I belong to the Indigenous Paite Zomi tribe, of Zo ancestry, from northeast India. I am currently a PhD Candidate at the School of Information, University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, US. I have been rigorously trained in sociology since my BA, MA, and M.Phil., and these training experiences have influenced my research approaches. My research is at the intersection of archives and digital studies from a decolonial and Indigenous lens.
This webpage is where I provide updates on my research on decolonial and Indigenous approaches to archival and digital studies in the experience of Indigenous Asian low/high/uplands, particularly the Zomi of northeast India. This is a space where I share insights into my academic journey, research interests, and the unique perspective I bring to these intersectional fields. Join me in exploring the intersection of decolonization, archives, and digital technologies, and discover the innovative approaches I employ to contribute to this evolving academic landscape.

I am currently on the academic job market.
